This October, we here at ImageFIRST are excited to attend MGMA 2017, an annual conference that brings together healthcare leaders from all across the United States. An event open to healthcare professionals of all levels, including organizations like ours, which provides scrub uniforms in the Lancaster, PA, area (and at our other locations throughout the United States and Puerto Rico), this is a welcome opportunity for people to come together and expand their knowledge, as well as to network with their peers.
At ImageFIRST, we not only provide medical linen and laundry across the United States and Puerto Rico, but we also take part in quarterly community giving events that make a positive impact on the lives of our communities, our associates, our customers and their patients. In a recent example, our ImageFIRST Corporate Office volunteered with Philabundance. On May 25, 2017, eight ImageFIRST associates drove into downtown Philadelphia, PA, to join Philabundance in sorting over 13,000 pounds of frozen meat to donate to charity.
First impressions are vital: Think about it.
The first impression your patients get can define their perception of your medical facility. That’s why when it comes to providing quality products such as medical scrub uniforms to your Bethlehem, PA area medical practice, ImageFIRST’s family standard makes all the difference.
According to the World Health Organization, the major sources of medical waste are hospitals, health facilities, laboratories, mortuaries, blood banks and nursing homes. Unfortunately, not all waste is safely disposed, creating a risk of injury and infection. This improper disposal can also pose another great risk as healthcare waste can release pathogens and toxins into our environment.
ImageFIRST strives to provide healthcare facilities with the best linen and laundry in Bethlehem, PA and throughout the country. We are also dedicated to making a difference in local communities with regular giving events.
If it weren’t for our amazing associates who go above and beyond to provide for our customers, ImageFIRST Lancaster wouldn’t have the driving force it needs to be remarkable. We are always looking for goal-oriented and friendly individuals to join our team, where associates are at the heart of our purpose. We believe building a great company is achievable by positively impacting the lives of our community, associates, customers and patients. Well aware of the importance of the patient experience, we choose to put the patient at the center of everything we do. Our associates play a large role in helping to make an impact – including our Management Trainees.
When you think about comfort, do you think about value? When you shop for a new piece of furniture, a bed, a couch, you have to consider what you’re willing to pay for a restful sleep or a relaxing night in front of the TV. Is that where comfort matters most? While some would argue that comfort is most valuable in the home, doesn’t it matter more in times of need?
When you or a loved one visits a hospital, it’s sometimes a daunting experience. It’s not a secret, a healthcare facility can be a stressful place, especially upon entry. It can also be the site of a joyous occasion, a birth, a bill of clean health, but in both trying and happy times, isn’t it important that you’re provided the smaller comforts?
As every Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgery Center is doubtless already aware, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid have recently announced an industry-changing survey, designed to help facilities gather an accurate picture of the patient care they provide from the unique perspectives of the patients themselves. The facilities who complete these surveys – optional through 2016, and mandatory beginning in 2017 – will need to receive over 300 responses, helping to acquire a well-rounded representation of all patients’ experiences.
It is in the nature of the medical field to provide for the utmost in patient comfort whenever possible, but finding out what makes patients feel confident and comfortable in their care has proven a difficult task. With the Affordable Care Act and the CAHPS survey, it has become abundantly evident that healthcare consumers possess more buying power than ever, shifting the healthcare industry towards greater transparency. So how to provide for patient comfort?
